OUR HISTORY
Founded
2010
The Fashion Institute was founded in 2010 by former publicist Sarah Stavrow, offering future fashionistas a platform to pursue their dreams of career in the fashion industry by combining quality education with a comprehensive workplace training program.
Became an RTO
2011
In 2011, The Fashion Institute became an Registered Training Organisation, offering students the opportunity study a Nationally Recognised Diploma of Business whilst still gaining hands on experience through our exclusive workplace training program.
Launched The Institute Group
2016
With the success of The Fashion Institute, The Institute Group was established as the overarching brand so we could extend our offering outside of just the fashion industry.
Launched The Makeup Institute
2019
Launch of The Makeup Institute, offering aspiring make-up artists the opportunity to study a Diploma of a Screen and Media with the same quality education and extensive work experience opportunities The Fashion Institute and The Institute Group is renowned for.
Partnership with Macleay College
2021
In 2021, The Fashion Institute entered a partnership with Higher Education Provider, Macleay College to offer our students with a pathway to Higher Education whilst still receiving the same unlimited work experience, event experience and industry opportunities.
Move to Higher Education
2023
In 2023 The Fashion Institute stepped away from The Institute Group and is now part of The Institute of Creative Arts + Technology, (formerly Macleay College) offering fashion focused undergraduate programs in Business, Communications and Media.
Closure of The Institute Group
2024
The Institute Group closed its operations on 1 August 2024.
